Better Gear

What to get when you get the money

This stuff is covered a lot fuller in the book! (especially right now)

Check out pretty much the first 150 pages of the book for everything related to equipment

Ok, though the book contains lots of the info that will end up in here, this page is to be aimed more at trying to keep on top of the increasing developments in DJ land as far as equipment is concerned. You'll know if you need a new mixer (or you just want one) or turntables, CD decks, Headphones etc - so there's not that much point going through all that, and listing the many functions on them (which is covered in the book anyway).

So, I'm in the process (while also re-doing this site) of building up this page into something that'll be of use to you. Right now, it isn't. It's bare, and there's nothing in it apart from this wee apologu for there being nothing here. Although, if you want me to tell you what to buy - here it is

  • 2 x Techncs 1210 (I use MkII's, but the Mk5G's are great)
  • 2 x Pioneer CDJ1000 MkIII's
  • 1 x Pineer DJM800 Mixer
  • 1 x Pioneer EFX-1000 effects unit (if you're into that kinda thing)
  • 1 x Technics RPDJ1210 headphones

Apart from the EFX-1000, that's what I use - and I don't think I'll ever change.

There's loads of options out there, options which, I promise, will be covered just as soon as I've got the rest of this site design out of the way (and I know what I can or can't cover in relation to the book copyright issues).
