I have a question about controllers/mixers that are compatible with traktor. I am just getting into DJing and currently own traktor scratch pro, because all of my music is in the form of mp3s. My goal is to become a party and beatmatching DJ. I have researched all of the possible setups that I can have and different products, however I need some more advise. I am trying to decide on whether I should purchase all of the hardware (mixer, turntables, etc...) separately, or if I should purchase a single unit such as the Vestax VCI-100. All thoughts and comments are helpful. Also, if you have any suggestions for specific controllers/mixers that I should look into buying it would be extremely helpful! My budget is between $500-$750. You are lucky enough to enjoy my first post on the forums.

I'm fairly new to DJing and bought myself a Numark OMNI Controller early this year. I really enjoy using it and it definitely has served me well without any mechanical problems thus far.

Unfortunately it only comes with mapping files for Traktor LE which means that you will have to select a function for each button which can be time consuming and somewhat complicated. I am under the assumption that Traktor only released the mapping files for Traktor Pro for their own Traktor controller which means that you may have to download to traktor LE which is not too bad.

The only issue i found with the Numark OMNI is the lack of 'loop expanding/reducing buttons' which is not too serious. I also came to the realisation only 24 hours before my first club gig of some of the issues switching from Traktor and the OMNI to CDJ 200"s.
